Turkana Central Island
Central Island National Park
Referred to as “The Gem of Lake Turkana”
is made up of three active volcanoes that belch sulphurous smoke and steam.
There are three crater lakes, Flamingo Lake, Crocodile Lake and Tilapia Lake,
that provide breeding grounds for world’s largest concentration of Nile
crocodiles. The Island is also rich in birdlife and it is an idea place to do birding, sport fishing, and short and long walks around the Island.
